OSEA Malibu really is top of the line luxury skincare!

I have to admit, whenever someone says that they have found the most “hydrating luxurious” body cream they have ever found, I usually roll my eyes and look the other way. Not because I am a skincare snob, but because beyond using just straight up coconut oil on my skin, my skin never truly feels refreshed and hydrated. Osea Malibu has been a complete game changer though in my after-shower skin care routine though after waiting on the sidelines to try it for years. This blog post will be an Osea Malibu Review.

I had seen Osea Malibu all over clean beauty influencers pages for years as I stated above but had waited a long time to try the products. I had seen the rave reviews, the pretty, aesthetic packaging it comes in, and the reviews of how dry skin will absolutely stand no chance against the body butter. For whatever reason though I just didn’t believe this brand was THAT good to spend the money on. It was one day when I was strolling Target and I noticed that Target now sold some Osea Malibu products. Even better, they were on sale, so I thought “ok, now is your time!” Boy, was I glad I finally bit the bullet!

What is OSEA Malibu?

If you aren’t aware, OSEA Malibu is a clean skin/clean beauty brand that has a pretty cool back story. The story of this brand started over a decade ago with a story of a woman who had a terrible fall when she was 44 years old causing her to be bedridden. This woman, Elsa, had always been a huge believer in the power of the sea. She had a dream one night that told her that the ocean would heal her body. Elsa listened to this dream and started immersing herself in frigid ocean water every day and was able to start swimming. Lo and behold, her leg ended up healing. How cool is that?

Fast forward, the first founder of OSEA, Jenefer Palmer, found herself always by the ocean as well. She found a need for skin care due to the fact that everything she saw on the market had artificial fragrances, dyes and lots of stuff people don’t want to be putting on their skin. She also noticed that most of these products didn’t even work well! So she started collecting seaweed from the ocean and making her own natural clean beauty and skin care products. OSEA stands for “ocean, sun, earth, and atmosphere”

Why Seaweed?

You might be asking or thinking to yourself, what is up with seaweed? Here are some of the amazing benefits seaweed can bring to the table in skin and body care:

  • One of the most incredible superfoods from nature
  • Rich in vitamins, minerals and nutrients
  • Amazing for anti-aging and moisturization

Products I have tried:

I have only tried body products of OSEA Malibu, mainly because as I am learning I have more acne-prone skin as I am aging (odd I know) I have never dealt with acne growing up, but I am very cautious as to what I put on my face now even if it is clean ingredients and natural skincare products. Ever since learning a lot about pore-clogging ingredients and switching my skincare over to non-pore-clogging products like Clearstem- check out my full review here! I rarely use anything else on my skin. Unfortunately, OSEA’s skincare line has nothing approved for non-pore clogging ingredients. A lot of products will say they can help with blemish-prone skin, but unfortunately they still use ingredients that can clog pores.

The body products I use on my body after getting out of the shower, for my skincare routine however, are magical. I have very sensitive skin as well, and these Osea products are great for all skin types on the body.

Undaria Algae Body Butter– this luxurious body butter is just what is described as; BUTTER. As I mentioned before, when I had seen a product being raved about as super moisturizing, I usually blew it off, because I think most products aren’t actually that moisturizing. This body butter performs though. It is so thick and smooth, and I am telling you your skin literally does feel moisturized after using it. I use it after getting out of the shower, and it’s such a treat. It’s clinically proven to hydrate skin for up to 72 hours. Loaded with vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, shea butter, and minerals, this body cream replenishes the skin’s moisture barrier. It also uses undaria seaweed, which is one of nature’s most incredible superfoods and the star ingredient. This cream is great for both firm and supple skin. It will leave your skin more moisturized, smooth, and more firm. This is definitely my favorite product.

the body butter is so luxurious!

Undaria Algae Body Oil- this product pairs so well with the body butter, or just straight by itself. I like to put this luxurious oil on right after I get out of the shower when my skin is still a tad damp. It is a super light weight, non-greasy oil that is enriched with Undaria algae. It smells so good, light and refreshing too with a lovely citrus scent of grapefruit, lime, and cypress with mango and mandarin notes. My skin feels so amazing after this.

Anti-aging Body Balm this is amazing to pair with Undaria Body Oil as they are both so luxurious and work great together. It is recommended to use the body oil and then layer the body balm over the body oil for additional firming and skin hydration benefits.

The body balm’s formula includes passion fruit seed oil, boosting your skin’s moisture retention, while coconut oil’s fatty acids lock in hydration. Safflower seed oil nourishes and soothes dry skin, leaving it velvety soft. It’s an ideal body lotion for dry skin. I truly feel like I am leaving a spa session after I apply my OSEA products after the shower.

I think we can all agree that ingredient lists have come a long way. The way this skincare brand doesn’t use any synthetic ingredients really elevates Osea’s products. This is honestly one of the most luxurious spa-type brands that I have purchased. They are totally worth the price!

Is OSEA a good line?

Yes, I would say OSEA is one of the top clean non-toxic skin care lines. They are top of the line luxurious as well, which makes it even more of a superb brand.

Is OSEA really clean?

Yes! OSEA is truly a clean skincare line utilizing ingredients from nature. According to OSEA’s website,

“For over 27 years, we’ve been on a mission to create clean, seaweed-infused skincare that respects the natural world and makes skin look and feel its absolute best.”

I hope this OSEA Malibu review was helpful! Let me know in the comments if you try OSEA!
