This Hello Bello Diaper Review has been a long time coming. As a mom of 4, who tries to live as sustainable and non-toxic friendly as she can, while also not stressing out about things (because let’s face it, stress is more toxic than anything) diapers have been a thing I have tested a lot of. I had heard so many positive reviews on Hello Bello I had to try them.
I have a previous post on some of the best non-toxic diaper brands I have tried out, but I wanted to do a whole post on Hello Bello, a brand that I think is pretty popular and is a pretty decent price point for a non-toxic type of diaper.

ToggleHello Bello diapers were created by husband and wife celebrity couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, although I recently found out that the company was bought out by a company named Hildred Capital. Apparently, Kristen and Dax filed for bankruptcy due to struggling with high shipping and production costs. Unfortunately, this just seems to be the way of the world these days; small companies having to be bought out by bigger companies. I haven’t noticed a difference in quality since the company was taken over which is good.
I think there are a ton of variables when it comes to “non-toxic” diapers. In my opinion, the only way to get a diaper that is actually truly “non-toxic” is to use cloth diapering. We used cloth diapering for my third child and it worked great! I just don’t have the energy anymore with kids to try and wash and clean cloth diapers. I’ve got enough laundry as it is!
Hello Bello diapers are a good option though for premium diapers that fall into the non-toxic category.
Hello Bello Diapers are:
Unfortunately, there are so many toxins in our world today, it is hard to avoid all of them. This Hello Bello Diaper Review is not about that. We can do our best though knowing what our products are made of to make better decisions for our family’s health. It is unfortunate that all the above ingredients are in standard diapers, but thankfully more and more companies like Hello Bello are coming out with diapers free of a lot of the toxic junk.
According to Babygearlab, chlorine is used in disposable diapers to bleach and whiten diaper material, we really don’t want our little baby’s sensitive skin being exposed to chlorine multiple times a day in a diaper.
Have you ever opened up a package of diapers and gotten hit with that artificial “baby scent” Synthetic fragrances are everywhere and pose significant health problems when we are constantly bombarded by it. Synthetic fragrance can cause a slew of health problems such as: endocrine disruption, they can mess with all things from thyroid health to reproductive health. It can cause skin rashes and skin issues, headaches, cancer, and neurological and respiratory issues. A great article from NCBI breaks it all down.
“Due to the vulnerability of children at an early age exposed to VOCs, the fragrances in children’s products are pollutants of concern since they appear as potential carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxicants, phytotoxins, and skin sensitizers [23]. In a study of 42 fragranced baby products, over six hundred emitted VOCs were detected, of which approximately one-third are potentially hazardous. These VOCs comprised different chemical classes but predominated the fragrance compounds limonene, α-pinene, linalool, β-myrcene β-pinene, and acetaldehyde (additive/fragrance), and the solvents (ethanol, acetone) [24].
Pretty scary, right??
Latex is an issue for a lot of people and can lead to allergies down the road when exposed to. I don’t think latex should be in diapers due to this issue alone.
These three are very toxic chemicals that are used as antifungal agents in the wood pulp used in diapers or as stabilizers in the manufacturing process of plastic polymers. These toxic chemicals are not only very harmful to aquatic life, but also extremely toxic to humans as well. Immunotoxicity, endocrine disruption, neurotoxicty, reproductive and developmental toxicities.
The great thing is, Hello Bello contains none of these toxic substances!
Hello Bello also cares about the environment. Their diapers are made using thoughtful materials like a diaper core that is made with sustainably harvested fluff pulp and a plant derived core liner. They also care about the carbon footprint impact of diapers so they pride themselves in being 100% USA made using local raw materials.
Since Hello Bello diapers are made without synthetic or artificial fragrance, latex, lotions or phthalates all possible immunotoxic and endocrine disruptors, Hello Bello diapers are great for even the most sensitive of baby skin.
My first thought when I picked up a package of Hello Bello diapers for my now 7-month-old, was how cute the diaper designs were! Similar to Honest co diapers, they have cute patterns you can choose if that is your jam. They have fun seasonal prints to choose from as well.
I think the best way to go about purchasing Hello Bello diapers, is to get the Hello Bello bundles. This is what is included in the bundle box of diapers:
Each pack of diapers varies per the size but the size 3 size that my baby is currently in comes 25 in a pack. You get 7 packs so 147 diapers. This breaks down to about $0.54 per diaper, and even less when including the 4 packs of wipes and free items.

If you are just starting the switch over to a new brand from conventional diapers, you will probably need a bit of adjusting for your standards. Conventional diapers can hold a lot of pee. The bad part of this, is that it takes those toxic chemicals we are trying to get rid of to accomplish that.
Hello Bello’s diapers definitely hold up much better than other non-toxic diaper brands I have tried. If you want a review on some other brands, check out my post here.
I also like that they are ultra soft and breathable and have secure but flexible fit. I wish these diapers were around when I had my first baby almost 7 years ago; the world of diapers has truly changed for the better!
Affordability is also a big factor in my liking for Hello Bello diapers. There are a few non-toxic different brands on the market that I would love to buy and try but it feels like you are taking on a car payment with them. Just like with anything in the non-toxic space, we need to make use with what we can afford and what works best for our families, and Hello Bello’s price point does just that for my family and I hope this Hello Bello diaper review helps you out.
Let’s get into some commonly asked questions:
Yes, I think it is a great product, that is why I made this Hello Bello diaper review. They care about the ingredients and functionality, they have cute fun designs, and they are affordable! All checks in my books. I was a little worried when I heard they were bought out, but it appears nothing has changed and they brought on even more natural products to their line up with the new purchaser.
In my opinion as a nurse and mother of 4, yes! Absolutely! We use them in our household!
Hello Bello diapers check off all the boxes as a clean diaper for me. They don’t include synthetic fragrance, latex, phthalates, gluten, soy and toxic ingredients listed above. Of course, there will always be more lesser toxic options, but again my goal is to help find more middle ground, clean options that everyone can use and Hello Bello is one of the best diapers for that.
I hope this Hello Bello diaper Review was helpful! You can purchase directly on the hello bello website, or through Amazon.
